after an undesover law enforcement policemen fired shots at close range in kasota at 3:40 this due a young man dies
Tyler Heilman, 24, had a kid, a girlfriend and was reportedly a stay-at-home dad.

Witnesses in Kasota said shots were fired at very close range at the chest of the suspect.
Witnesses reported looking guys partying and driving up Firemen's Hill, the sledding hill in town.
with a verbal exchange between the 2 men, the confrontation became physical. Waldron fired 4 shots and Skoogman would not disclose how many of those shots hit Heilman. He did say Waldron suffered non life threatening injuries and no arms were found in Heilman's car.

Beyond that, Skoogman declined to provide further details. "This is a complicated matter which wants to be investigated thoroughly," Skoogman said. "I'm telling the community to withhold judgement until the facts are in."
A gray SUV-type vehicle followed and parked behind the Heilman car. An altercation ensued, and Costello said he heard gunshots.
"It was about in 5 seconds," said Costello,"The cop was shouting, 'get back' and waving the gun. He was saying, 'I had to do it. Getback.' The guys weren t armed or anything. They were in shorts."
afther 4:15 p.m., there were at least hundred bystanders looking on. Two ambulances comes near the apartment building, and the Mayo 1 helicopter ambulance had landed in the park. All three ambulances left without the deceased. Other helicopter ambulance landed just before 6 p.m. and left soon later.
Skoogman said officers with the MBCA are actively seeking public information concerning the incident. Those with information are urged to call the BCA tip line at 1-877-996-6222. He estimated the investigation could take six to eight weeks to complete.
Law enforcement officials had marked with several letters an area on the south side of the apartment building where the scuffle had taken position. They yellow-taped off the apartment building property and part of the Kasota park to keep bystanders back.
A man who had been with Heilman before and during the shooting said he was just a few feet away when the gunshots were fired. He said his friend and the officer were in a physical tussle. He said he ran for fear of being shot himself.
Waldron, who has been placed on a standard paid administrative leave, has no record of the use of force, Skoogman said.
